TIME FOR THE TRUTH ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY and THAT CITY CALLE SODOM

TIME FOR THE TRUTH ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY and THAT CITY CALLED SODOM

Romans 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Let's get real. It's time for some honesty, wouldn't you say? Maybe you've heard some of the things set forth these days, as proof that the Bible really does not teach that homosexuality is a sin, and further, that homosexuality was not the reason God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

Why! If this is so, then surprise! Surprise! People have been believing an error that has been passed on for generations to unsuspecting people who did not know the Bible does not teach that homosexuality is a sin!

Or does it?

After all, just because God made man and woman to be united and said clearly -

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.,

that doesn't mean that any other type of union is wrong. Right?

Hmmm … let us use those little gray cells as (Hercule Poirot would say), in our brains and reason here for a minute. So if I tell my child that he must be in bed by 10 PM, he will not necessarily conclude that to do anything else would be wrong. Right?

If I find him still up at midnight and he says to me. “You did not tell me not to be up until midnight,” he will be justified and it will be wrong for me to correct him? Right?

Umm … NO! I did not have to say, 'Do not stay up past 10 PM,' if I specifically said to be in bed at that time. If he has done anything other than be in bed at 10 PM he knows that he has disobeyed.

Shall we pause for a duh moment here? Simple logic still has it's place.

But let's say it another way. Suppose I make a glaze to go on the homemade donuts that I have just finished frying. My son walks into the kitchen and I tell him, 'I made this glaze to go on the fresh donuts. Now if he picks up the bowl of glaze and says 'I would rather use it as candy and eat it with my friends,' then heads out of the door with it, he has done nothing wrong – right?

Pause, for another duh moment........ Just because he wants to use the glaze in a different way than what it was made for does not mean that makes it okay!

Ask any physician what certain body parts, including internal organs are for, and he can tell you. He can tell you how that the male and female bodies are designed to unite, even with intricate detail.

Still, be that as it may, what is to be considered here is what the Bible has to say.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Matthew 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Well, would you look at that? It is in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Please forgive my sarcastic tone, but it's time to get real and to get honest.

Shall – leave. Shall- cleave to his wife. Shall - be one flesh. - Shall, Shall, and Shall.

Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

If that seems hard to understand then let me help. The one who made humans in the beginning, made two sexes- male and female

Matthew 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

For this cause, - that is – because God made them two sexes – male and female –(designed for perfect physical union) - a man is to leave his parents and be glued to his wife - AND – they are to be one flesh.

In other words the reason for heterosexuality is that the Creator made these two sexes to be united and thereafter not be considered two but one composite being, which is made of two parts, that come together in a unity that makes them one.

Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God (elohiym) said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

WHAT WAS NOT GOOD? (only one thing) The man to be alone. However in the Hebrew, this word does not mean simply to be singular.

Alone' – (Hebrew -Strong's Exhaustive Concordance) = 'bad', meaning, separation, by impl. a part of the body, branch of a tree ….

This indicates something more than to be only one thing by itself, or singular. It indicates an incomplete state. It indicates separation.

Help meet for him – (Strong's) = ezer; aide; - help. - and neged; a front, i.e. part opposite; spec. a counterpart, or mate ….

Counterpart (Webster's 1913) = 1. A part corresponding to another part; anything which answers, or corresponds, to another; a copy; a duplicate; a facsimile. 4. A thing may be applied to another thing so as to fit perfectly, as a seal to its impression; hence, a thing which is adapted to another thing, or which suplements it; that which serves to complete or complement anything; hence, a person or thing having qualities lacking in another; an opposite.

So God created the woman to be the man's counterpart. She fits perfectly, in a physical sense. She completes him by having the qualities he lacks by being the same, as in also human, and yet opposite. She is the receiver of what he has to give (seed). Male and female were created in a way that would compliment and contrast each other.

By the way, according to

... The female brain appears to have increased connection between neurons in the right and left hemispheres of the brain, and males seem to have increased neural communication within hemispheres from frontal to rear portions of the organ

Isn't that interesting? If this is the case, then, when male and female are united as one, the neural connections of the whole brain – left to right and front to back – come together and there is a completion.

Matthew 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Put asunder (Greek, Strong's) = [cwrizw] chorizo kho-rid'-zo from [cwra] - chora; to place room between, i.e. part; reflexively, to go away:--depart, put asunder, separate.

If it was the creator God who designed this unit, if He made these two parts to connect and become one flesh, or one singular unit, do not let human beings separate, or put any room between the members of this unit.

Not only do these verses give God's distinct instructions, but there is even a 'wherefore.' There was a reason that this was to be done. God made His instructions clear and had a reason for making it so. This is easy to see.

Two males cannot be counterparts. And since, in the physiological makeup of each, there is only the 'giver' (of seed and the sexual organ) and no 'receiver,' either physical union must not happen, leaving only stimulation by some other means, or the partners must improvise and manipulate another part of the body to a use it was not designed for They must go against the natural use of the body. Any physician can tell us that the anus is not designed for sexual intercourse. Both the colon and the rectum are part of the intestines. The anus is where waste it to be passed from the body. The anus is full of bacteria, whereas the vagina is self-cleansing.

Let's be honest. No one would try to feed their body by stuffing food into their ear or nose or anus . Who would not think that anyone who would do such a thing has no sense at all? We cannot force our eyes to smell or our nose to see. No one expects that they can cause their lungs to pump blood or their heart to digest food. And yet individuals will choose to take that which was meant for passing off body waste as the place to receive life-giving seed, knowing it will only be cast off and die. Not only so, but they will condemn anyone who will not accept this as right and godly. How can a reasonable person consider that which goes against God's design to be godly?

Can we be reasonable here?

Yet the sort of ridiculous reasoning put forth as evidence that God is not against men marrying men or women marrying women, or homosexuality in general, is to say that just because God created male and female with the ability to have sexual intercourse, does not mean that it's wrong to do it another way.

How about this? Let's have honesty now! Do it if you choose to, but leave God out of the picture; out of the discussion. He made his design, His purpose, and His instructions clear. So why insult Him?

Or at least, to make a case for God accepting homosexuality, please at least use more reasonable evidence, though I understand there are many gullible people who will not catch on to this very obvious misuse of scripture.

As to the next question, Did God really destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality and sodomy in particular, let's be honest. Let's get real.

What was the reason God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah?

For years there may have been few who would have even questioned the assumption that it was because of homosexuality. However, today, where there has been a push for acceptance and validation of the gay lifestyle, this has been questioned and in many cases denied.

It is understandable why someone might say that the destruction did not come because of what the men of Sodom attempted to do to the angels since God had made the decision to destroy the cities before the angels came to see Lot and to warn him of God's intentions.

Genesis 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

Genesis 18:28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.

Genesis 18:32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

The verses in Genesis 18 above, let us know that God's decision to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah was based on the outcry that God had heard, the unrighteousness, and the grievous sins that the people were committing, although he does not list those sins in these verses. In this portion of scripture, we are not told that homosexuality is the primary sin of these cities. However, there is more to be found on the subject in other scripture verses. Genesis chapter thirteen tells us this -

Genesis 13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.

Here we are told what the men of Sodom were like. The word 'man' here refers to the male gender.

It would seem that the behavior of the males of Sodom toward the angels was evidence of a pre-existing state of mind, which God already was aware of before the angels arrived. These were exceedingly wicked men.

Men = (Strong's Exhaustive Concordance) iysh; a man as an individual or male person ...him (that is) husband ….

So then God specifies the condition of the 'males' of Sodom as being 'sinners exceedingly'.

Before looking at the list of Sodom's sins that are named in scriptures let us take a closer look at what happened specifically, on the day Sodom was destroyed and the night before.

Genesis 19:1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

Here we see that the angels came to Sodom while Lot was sitting in the gate of the city in the evening. Lot invited the angels to come to his home but at first, they refused, saying they would stay the night in the street. After Lot “pressed on them greatly,” they finally consented and went with him into his home.

4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

Before the angels had laid down to rest for the night, both the young and the old men (males) of the city, in fact, all of the people of the city compassed Lot's house.

Young (Strong's) = 4480/5288 - min; from out of in many senses – with – naar ; a boy (as active), from the age of infancy to adolescence … also (by interch. of sex), a girl (of similar latitude of age):....

At this point in the story we are given some very interesting information about the people of Sodom.

One train of thought today is, that what was happening was something commonly done as a means of showing strangers just who was in charge of the city. I guess you could say that Sodom had set up a system whereby they instilled fear into any strangers who might think of entering the city, whereby they would not think of entering in an aggressive manner but would rather be subdued from the beginning.

As much as some may want us to believe this to be the case, I am afraid such an idea overlooks some very important information given thus far in the scriptures.

You see, it would be one thing to have a vigilante group or a law enforcement group, who were assigned the job of carrying out this cruel introduction to Sodom and putting the fear of the city into all newcomers, but what we read goes far beyond even the cruelty of such an idea.

What we have here is all the males of the city from children to old men coming out in mass to carry out their twisted behavior on the angels. Remember that the Bible has told us that these were exceedingly wicked men.

What was it they were intent on doing to these angels who they saw as men? It was to “know” them.

It is a far stretch to suggest that all they wanted to do was to be casually introduced to these men, when Lot responded in the way he did.

6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,

7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.

8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

Clearly the men of Sodom were seeking to do something that was wicked as scripture has plainly stated.

“And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly

Let's be reasonable. Okay? A simple introduction would not have been seriously evil.

While Lots begs them not to do this evil thing, he in turn offers them an alternative. He offers them to take his daughters who had not yet “known” man and to - “do ye to them as is good in your eyes.” Not just introduce yourselves to them, but rather – do what you want to do to them.

There are probably few who would fail to acknowledge that Lot was referring to his daughters as being virgins who had not had sexual relations with a man.

It is apparent that the men of Sodom were calling out to Lot to let them have sex with these two men (angels). This is why Lot called their intentions wicked. Lot knowing who his guests were, would prefer letting these men do what they chose to do with his virgin daughters rather than let them have the angels of God.

There are those who may be willing to acknowledge that this is what the men of Sodom were intent on doing, yet try to pass it off as only a way of bullying newcomers and showing them who was in control.

I read the explanation of one person who claimed that the majority of the men in Sodom and Gomorrah were heterosexual (although where such an idea came from I do not know). But think about it with a rational mind. If this was the case, then we have before us something quite astounding.

We have a multitude of primarily heterosexual males of all ages, willing to commit an act of homosexual rape on complete strangers.

I THINK NOT!

Ask any man who is heterosexual if he would commit a homosexual act in order to humiliate someone and see what his response would be! To his thinking, he would not only humiliate the person he attacked but would also defile himself, doing something he finds repulsive.

For any man, let alone a heterosexual male, to be willing to 'put the hurt on' someone who is endangering his family, his town, or his country, may seem completely feasible. Men go off to war all the time in order to protect their country and loved ones. They will fight an enemy. They will fistfight, or even kill if they feel the necessity. They will threaten bodily harm to anyone who would think of hurting their loved ones. But it takes a different sort of a person, a degenerate sort of person to rape another human being, let alone to consider rape as a warning to someone who has not threatened them or their loved ones in any way. To use rape as a form of bullying all strangers is not reasonable even to very rough men.

But, and if, this did seem to be something that a city of greedy people thought would ensure the safety of their city, it would be more reasonable to have certain men who were willing to commit such heinous atrocities on other human beings assigned to the task.

To get to the point of being capable of raping another human requires a killing of the conscience and a hardening of the heart to an extreme.

But what happened in Sodom on that fateful day, was that even the young men or boys were not only willing to rape strangers but to rape other males. Not only this, but they were so intent on doing so that they were going to break Lot's door down in order to get to these men and get the job done.

9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.

11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

Do you hear what is being said here?

What do you think your immediate reaction would be to instantaneously becoming blind? Think about it honestly. If suddenly, right now, you were to lose your vision, how would you react? I think most people would panic. Oh you might try to calm yourself for a second as you attempted to find out if the lights had gone out in the house, if you were indoors. But these men were outdoors. If you suddenly lost your sight outdoors, you might rub your eyes to see if something had fallen over them or gotten into them, but when the reality hit you that you were indeed blind, I think most of us would panic!

However when the angels struck all the men in Sodom with blindness at once, what did they do? All of them, both small and great kept right on trying to find the door to Lot's house to get to the two strangers. And they continued their determined search until they had wearied themselves in their efforts!

Incredible!

This suggests being so consumed and driven by such a fever of lust, that the fact of suddenly becoming blind is a secondary concern to satisfying their sexual appetite!

My friend there is nothing normal about such a condition! And even the young ones were consumed with this passion!

Jude spoke of the condition of the people of Sodom that confirms this.

Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jude 1:8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Giving themselves over to fornication means – (Strong's) = ekporneuoek-porn-yoo'-o from [ek] – ek and [porneuw] - porneuo to be utterly unchaste:--give self over to fornication.

To be chaste, is to be - 1. Pure from unlawful sexual intercourse; virtuous; continent. (Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913 + 1828)

They were completely impure. They practiced unlawful sexual intercourse.

What is fornication in the Bible?

Fornication (Strong's) – 2181zanah (Hebrew) and 4202porneia (Greek) - Zanah; to commit adultery (usually of the female and less often of simple fornication, rarely of involuntary ravishment); figuratively to commit idolatry ( the Jewish people being regarded as the spouse of Jehovah): ….

Porneia; harlotry (including adultery and incest); fig. idolatry:- fornication.

A harlot in the Old Testament is the same word as is translated 'fornication' above. It is the Hebrew word zanah.

Jude tells us that the people of Sodom had given themselves over to fornication. They went after strange flesh. In other words, it was not simply that they lived with a lover out of wedlock or were unfaithful to their spouse. No! One partner would not suffice. They went after “strange” or different or even altered flesh.

strange (Strong's) = heteros (an-,the) other or different: - altered... strange

Let's tell it like it is. The people of Sodom were utterly unchaste, they gave themselves over to fornication and they went after strange flesh, or that is - other flesh – different or altered flesh. Notice also, in the meaning of the word fornication, are the words incest and idolatry.

So then according to the Bible, the majority of the people of Sodom were not simply every day heterosexuals, nor were the homosexuals simply people who led regular lives only with a partner of the same sex.

These were people who wanted that which was strange, altered, or different. Not only was this what they wanted but they went after what they lusted for.

My friend, this sounds very much like an addiction. As a matter of fact, I think of only three reasons why so many men of all ages would be so determined to get to these two strangers that even blindness would not distract them. That would be fear, pain, or addiction and these easily go together.

If an individual is addicted to drugs and is unable to get the drugs that he is addicted to, he may suffer great pain, hallucinations, and fear. His suffering can become so tremendous that all he can think of is getting what he needs to stop his pain.

No, it is indeed unlikely that young men at the age of early adulthood, who normally might be thinking of what they were going to do with their future; what career they might enter, who they might marry, where they would like to live etc. would suddenly be so completely consumed with getting to two complete strange men and raping them, that nothing would deter them, including being stricken with blindness. Nor is it likely that a normal young man would rush off, at the drop of a hat, to rape anyone, let alone someone of his own gender, who had done nothing to incite anger and rage; unless this were already an addiction; unless his hunger for strange flesh was fueled by an unholy appetite and addiction.

In other words, it is unlikely that such homosexual acts were new and unfamiliar to the mass of men in the city of Sodom. It is far more likely that such acts were common to them and something they greatly desired.

I believe most honest individuals would have to admit this to be the case.

Even the historian Flavius Josephus in his writng of the Antiquities of the Jews, which according to - http://www.britannica.com – was written in Greek in about AD 93, spoke of the actions of the people of Sodom as being of a sexual nature, not a desire for a simple introduction!

Flavius Josephus of the Antiquities of the Jews Chapter Eleven — Book I

And the Angels came to the city of the Sodomites, and Lot intreated them to accept of a lodging with him: for he was a very generous and hospitable man; and one that had learned to imitate the goodness of Abraham. Now when the Sodomites saw the young men to be of beautiful countenances, and this to an extraordinary degree, and that they took up their lodgings with Lot, they resolved themselves to enjoy these beautiful boys by force and violence: and when Lot exhorted them to sobriety, and not to offer any thing immodest to the strangers, but to have regard to their lodging in his house; and promised, that if their inclinations could not be governed, he would expose his daughters to their lust, instead of these strangers: neither thus were they made ashamed.

4. But God was much displeased at their impudent behaviour: so that he both smote those men with blindness, and condemned the Sodomites to universal destruction. But Lot, upon God’s informing him of the future destruction of the Sodomites, went away; taking with him his wife, and daughters; who were two, and still virgins: for those that were betrothed (31) to them were above the thoughts of going; and deemed that Lot’s words were trifling.

Whether you give Josephus' writings any credit or not, it is clear what the mindset of this man who lived approx. 93 AD was. This is not just some new idea of our day and time.

Also remember that the scripture speaks of the cries that were coming from Sodom that God had heard.

Genesis 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

cry - zeaqah= (Strong's) a shriek or outcry: - cry (ing)

Definition of shriek in English: - http://www.oxforddictionaries.com

verb [no object] - 1. Utter a high-pitched piercing sound or words, especially as an expression of terror, pain, or excitement:

noun - A high-pitched piercing cry or sound; a scream:

great = (Strong's) – rabab; to cast together, i.e. increase, espec. in number; also (as denom. from rebabah, to multiply by the myriad: - be many (-ifold), be more, multiply, ten thousands.

Genesis 18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

Cry = (Strong's) tsaaqah; a shriek: -cry (ing).

There were cries or shrieks that were numerous and perhaps increasing, coming from Sodom and Gomorrah. The sort of sounds that often express terror, pain, or excitement. It was obviously not a sound of something good if it displeased God as it apparently did.

Could these have been the cries of other victims of the men of that sinful city, as they cried out in terror and pain?

Could it have been the cries of multitudes of sinful men indulging in orgies and many unchaste acts?

Perhaps both, for the cries stirred God into action. And the scriptures give us a glimpse of the men of that city on only one night when they again went after strange flesh, the flesh of two angels of God, and were so overcome with desire that even being struck with blindness did not stop their fervent efforts to get to them. They continued on until they wearied themselves in their blind efforts.

11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

Still, some would have us believe that homosexuality had nothing to do with God's reason for destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, even though it appears to have been a great part of their activities, in fact, a probable addiction of the men of those cities; such an addiction in fact, that the males of all ages were so consumed with the lust for strange flesh including the same sex, that they mobbed Lot's house. Even after losing their eyesight, they would not let up with their desperate efforts to assault the angels of God. Still, some would have us believe that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is a weak argument against homosexuality and that it does not indicate God's disapproval of it.

Well alright then. If that is not convincing, then let's go on and look at other scriptures about these cities.

Sodom and Gomorrah were Canaanite cities -

Genesis 10:19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

In Leviticus chapter 18. the Lord spoke to Moses, telling him that he was not to do the things done by the Canaanites.

I bring this scripture to show the list of what the Canaanites were doing, that God said was 'defiling' them. I do not bring these verses for a discussion of the Law and whether or not it is in effect today, but to make clear that homosexuality was among the things defiling these people. These things are said to have already been 'defiling' the Canaanite people, when God began to give Moses the Law.

In other words, they did not just become wrong, because to do them would be breaking the Law. Before the Law was given, they were already defiling the Canaanite people, of which Sodom and Gomorrah were a part.

Leviticus 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:

Since the word 'defile here means -

tame' taw-may' - a primitive root; to be foul, especially in a ceremial or moral sense (contaminated):--defile (self), pollute (self), be (make, make self, pronounce) unclean, X utterly.

we are able to see God's view even before He put the Law of Moses in place.

God began setting forth, as law, the forbidding of those things that were already making the people foul, contaminated, polluted and unclean.

Among the sins of these people were homosexuality (v. 22) and even bestiality (v. 23)

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Shall not lie – (Hebrew, Strong's) shakab shaw-kab' a primitive root; to lie down (for rest, sexual connection, decease or any other purpose):--X at all, cast down, ((lover-))lay (self) (down), (make to) lie (down, down to sleep, still with), lodge, ravish, take rest, sleep, stay.

Leviticus 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

Note the word 'defile' here again.

An honest person can see the meaning of these verses. God had designed male and female for physical union.

To have physical union or sexual activity with one of the same sex, or with an animal, was to make them unclean and polluted. It was to disrespect and disregard God, His creation, and the purpose for which He had created man. But these people rebelled against the plan and purpose of God and men are doing the same yet today.

Deuteronomy 9:24 Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.

Thus we can see that if the nation of Canaan was defiled with all of these things, so was Sodom and Gomorrah. Yes homosexuality was practiced in these cities.

Any honest person will recognize the meaning of these verses and not try to twist their meaning.

These activities, among others, brought on the wrath of God!

Deuteronomy 29:23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:

In Ezekiel, we find another list of sins of Sodom and Gomorrah. Some point out that homosexuality is not named in this list. But is this the case?

Ezekiel 16:49-51 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.

Abomination here is the Hebrew word - tow`ebahto-ay-baw' or tonebah {to-ay-baw'}; feminine active participle of 'ta`ab' (8581); properly, something disgusting (morally), i.e. (as noun) an abhorrence; especially idolatry or (concretely) an idol:-- abominable (custom, thing), abomination.

The list -

1 Fulness of bread

2 Abundance of idleness

3 She did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. (Self centered)

4 Haughty

5 Committed abominations

6 Justified thy sisters in all thine abominations

The picture here is of a selfish, proud, and lazy people who indulge themselves with food and whatever abominations, or that is, disgusting and abominable things they choose and to justify the actions of others who do them, while having no concern for the needs of others. No details are given as to which particular abominations they were committing, but as stated earlier, they were Canaanite people and God listed their abominations in Leviticus! These included homosexuality (man lying with mankind as with womankind).

The abominations may not be specified here, but as we have seen, they were in Leviticus and were evidenced in Genesis chapter 18, in the story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

As can be seen from the meaning of the word 'abomination,'these things were disgusting, morally. They were abominable (unequivocally detestable [The Free Dictionary]) and an abhorrence (one that is disgusting, loathsome, or repellent.[ The Free Dictionary])

IDOLATRY OF SODOM AND GOMORRAH

Deuteronomy 32:32 38 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?

35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste

36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,

38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.

When men turn from the true and living God, lifting themselves above Him in their own minds and hearts, they commonly turn to gods of their own making. If they do not make Gods with their hands they worship themselves as God. What is the results of such a mindset according to the Word of God?

Zephaniah 2:9-11 Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

10 This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.

11 The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

Isaiah 3:8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

Isaiah 3:9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

Jeremiah 23:14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

So be honest! It is time for truth!

Does the Bible bear out that homosexuality was among the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah? Yes it clearly does. Those who would like us to believe otherwise can pick out verses about Sodom and Gomorrah and point out that homosexuality is not named in them. They can perhaps be quite convincing, if they leave out what is said before and after these verses; if they omit other portions of scripture, like those addressing the Canaanite cities, which Sodom and Gomorrah were a part of and whose sins are actually listed. If they fail to look honestly at what was going on in Sodom the day the angels of God arrived and to face the facts that the activities of the men of that city, on that day, had to be the result of an already developed way of life.

But is that why God destroyed Sodom? We have read clearly that He destroyed them because of their abomination, of which homosexuality was a part.

Of course some of you may have heard the scoffers, who like to point out other things in the Old Testament that are called abominations, as though these were ridiculous and no longer binding. They refer to things in the Law of Moses, speaking of things they apparently do not understand. They mock things that had important purpose at the time of the Levitical priesthood, pertaining to the ceremonies that were performed, before Jesus came and brought a more perfect means of true salvation for all mankind.

We have seen, however that what was said to have defiled the Canaanite people to which the people of Sodom belonged, and was considered, by God, to be abominations, was defiling them before the Law was given. They were acts of rebellion against God.

The scoffers scoff either in ignorance or purposeful deception and either ignore, hide, or do not know or understand what Jesus Himself said -

Mark 10:6-8 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

God said how it was to be, in the beginning, and Jesus affirms that it remains the will of God.

God hears every word of insult made against Him. He sees every arrogant heart that is puffed up and willing to defy Him. Those who think they are elevated enough intellectually, to take upon themselves the right and justification to turn away from God's design and purpose, to their own, may smile and speak condescendingly to those who refuse to do so.

They may insult and slander those who refuse to pervert the Word of God or speak irreverently of His design and His will.

But one day they will receive in themselves that which is fair return for their actions, as is said in -

Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Recompence (requital - .1 something given in return, compensation, or retaliation)

meet necessary (as binding ...needful

They will reap their just reward

Psalms 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

While many homosexuals have suffered severely from abuse, pain, and loss, before turning to this lifestyle; while many are hurting and see no way to identify themselves in any other way, yet we cannot in all honesty, manipulate the scriptures to justify what goes against the heart and purpose of God.

There is hope for any and all who are consumed in a life of sin, no matter what that sin may be. For Jesus has said -

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

1 Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

1 Peter 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

1 Peter 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Romans 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

SILENCING THE WORD OF GOD

    SILENCING THE WORD OF GOD

Isaiah 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God

1 Corinthians 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

It is extremely important to individuals to feel accepted by those around them. Some will try to prove themselves. Some will put on false airs. And some will try to force their acceptance.
People debate, argue, insult and slander over the choices they and others make with their lives
Sadly many who call themselves Christians suffer from this need for approval from the world along with everyone else.
I believe mankind was made for fellowship and relationships. It is the way God designed us and one of the ways we are in His image. But the greatest need is to have fellowship with and 'in' God and with those who are His.
For a true, born again child of God, the relationship with God should be the priority.
If, as a Christian, our allegiance is to God above all else, the acceptance of those of the world should become of far less importance.
We should know and understand that to love God and belong to Him requires us to take up our cross and follow Him; it means to walk a path of death to self and the ways of the world.

Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

We should know that choosing God means turning away from sin and the god of this world. This puts us in opposition to the world and the god that it blindly follows.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

We can neither accept the ways of the world, nor condone them. Thus, in turn, the world will not smile sweetly on our way of life.

James 4:4 ... know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God

Even in the church world, it seems that people justify rejecting the words of this verse of scripture, for an idea they deem superior.
The idea is set forth that we are to be friends with those who are living in sin, including those who embrace a lifestyle of rebellion to God, even those who show great disrespect and disdain for Him, in order to win them to Christ.
But too often this being a 'friend' does not simply mean being considerate and doing what is kind and what is best for them, but instead involves maintaining close fellowship.
The question is, can you, as a person whose life is wrapped up in the Savior of your soul, have a close relationship with someone who is involved in the ways of the world and yet have no fellowship with the world itself?
There are those who have not been born again, but who try to live moral lives. You may have such a 'friend'. You are to love your neighbor, which is a person who would be there for you in time of need, whether he is a saint or a sinner.Yet your fellowship with an unbeliever will have it's limits, for they do not understand the ways of the Lord you serve. You cannot participate in any activities they may involve themselves in that are contrary to God and His Word, nor can you approve or encourage them in those things. You are never to function separate from the influence of the Holy Spirit although they neither have Him in their lives nor do they know Him.
There is a difference in loving someone and maintaining close or intimate fellowship with him. We are told to love our enemies, but we know we cannot have close fellowship with them, for they are against us.
However today the pressure is on to do more than love and care for the unsaved, but to show acceptance, not only of them as individuals but also their lifestyle. This pressure is on to a tremendous degree where it concerns the homosexual lifestyle. Christians are being pressured to not only give their approval to this sinful lifestyle but to smile at it, accept it as normal and bring both the sinner with his sin into their lives with open arms.
Further we are to keep our mouths shut and never speak against such sin, or preach the truth found in the scriptures concerning them. We are to be silent and in so doing -

SILENCE THE WORD OF GOD!

We are not to tell our children the truth concerning these things, but public schools are to be allowed to teach children that this behavior is completely acceptable and normal.
For the most part, it is okay if we speak up and say that lying is wrong, that cheating or stealing is wrong. And it is understandable if we do not want to hang out with a liar, cheater or thief. But woe to the individual who will speak the truth about homosexuality, let alone be uncomfortable in the company of a homosexual!
If we refuse to support this sinful lifestyle, not only may horrid and hateful things be said about us, while we are labeled in many an insulting and derogatory manner, but this will include being accused of being unloving and un-Christ-like. Then too, we may find ourselves on the wrong side of the law!
Such intimidation has had it's effect on people who find acceptance and approval of men to be very important and who fear the law of the land. Also, the pride of the heart, resists being labeled in an unpleasant way!
While some want to profess their Christianity they do not want to look bad to the world. Yet if we are embarrassed to identify with Christ and His teachings, how can we say we love Him and are honored to be His child?

Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Some may say they do not want to run off the sinner, having been misled to think that to be Christlike, is to always make the sinner feel loved and comfortable. We can show him love but we cannot determine whether or not he will receive that love and it is not our job to make him comfortable in his sin.
Surely when the Bible tells us -

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

we should not take it to heart! Right? But aren't we told this is Wrong!

How could such instruction fit with the 'make everyone feel valued and acceptable so they will be drawn to God by love' philosophy? How can you reach someone if you separate yourself from them?
Let me ask you to give an honest answer to this one question. What are we to do with this scripture? Shall we erase it from our Bibles?
We are also being told by the world, that you can be homosexual and still be a Christian. Never mind that God forbids it. Never mind that He told us how he created the man and woman and His own purpose. The scriptures made plain what marriage (the union of two individuals) was to be.

Matthew 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Mark 10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Still – even so – Never Mind! We can bypass this and do something altogether different, as though God's instructions, design and purpose are not that important and still be Christians - right?

I think not!

The word Christian means - Greek – ; a Christian, i.e. follower of Christ:--Christian.
How can you be 'following' Christ while you do, in your body, what is in opposition to His own design and purpose? How can you be following Christ while you go against His instructions?
But we are told that if we do not accept those living this lifestyle to be Christians, we are judging and that this is against the Word of God.
How many times have you heard it said that the Bible tells us not to judge?
In other words, if you speak in agreement with the scriptures; if you say what God says, you are, at the same time, going against Him? So shhhh …. keep it to yourself. Does this make sense?

Something is very wrong here!

We have been lied to about judging and many have believed the lie.

Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Judgment has already come to -ALL– men.

John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

Jesus came into this world for judgment and His judgment is true!

John 8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

1 Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Brother and sister, can you answer this question? Are you not worthy to judge the smallest matters?

1 Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Does this verse actually say that the children of God are to judge things that pertain to this life or are our eyes playing tricks on us?

NO! There is no trick here. These are words of scripture.

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Dear Brother and Sister, judgment has already come, as we are told in Romans 5:18 (above)- “...judgment came upon all men to condemnation.”
God Himself has judged and his judgment is perfect and just. Jesus came into this world for judgment and His judgment is true. It is the judgment of Himself and the Father.
How is it then we are to judge “things that pertain to this life?” (1Cor, 6:3 above), and yet are told not to judge, as we have heard so many times? Does the Bible contradict itself?
Never!
We judge according to the judgment that God has already made. We judge by agreeing with God and His word.
What we are not to do, is to judge of our own judgment, outside of the Word God, which God has established. We are to judge, not by how it appears to us (John 2:24 above) but judge righteous judgment.
What is righteous judgment? It is the judgment given and established by the one true, living and only just God! It is His judgment and cannot be adjusted to accommodate the desire of the unsaved.
We are not to mete out condemnation of our own. Jesus didn't even come to condemn. But the Word of God tells us (John 3:18 above) that whoever does not believe on the Savior is condemned already.
Folks the condemnation has already been determined and the judge has passed His judgment. We cannot change it or adjust it.
Those who have not been born again are already condemned. They greatly need to know what the judgment is that God has passed on those He has condemned, in order that they might understand the importance of the salvation Jesus brought, that is able to free them from sin and condemnation; that can save them from the death penalty

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die....

Death is the penalty for sin.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

We are doing no man a favor if we pretend he is okay in his sin. There is no love in such behavior. It might be the easier thing to do and a way to protect ourselves from his anger and rejection, but it is not love.
There is only one way to come out from under the condemnation and judgment of God and the world needs to know this.
How are we able to live without condemnation? Only by being 'in' Christ and walking in the Spirit of God, so that we will not be led ignorantly by our flesh.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

In reverse, if we are not 'in' Christ, we are already condemned and we do walk after the flesh.
To be 'in' Christ is far more than claiming Christianity. To be 'in' Him, we must have repented of our sins and be living in obedience to Him. Not turning from His ways to our own.

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand

Repentance is the message Jesus preached. Yet Satan wants to silence His message!
What was Jesus' reaction to those who would not repent? It was not a cuddly, warm 'Oh that is okay. I accept you anyway,' spoken with a syrupy sweet smile!

Matthew 11:20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

This word 'upbraid ' means

What were Jesus' actions toward those who took advantage of others in the temple and did not respect God's house?

John 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

Satan has offered the world a whitewashed gospel and many have accepted it hook, line and sinker. But it is not the true gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the gospel (so-called) of another god.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

The message that the god of this world has set forth in order to prevent the true judgment of God from being known and to blind the minds of them who do not believe, has spread and taken hold even in the church world.
So-called Christians proudly proclaim their tolerance of those embracing a sinful lifestyle that perverts the image of God as well as lies concerning His righteousness and the salvation for which He paid a great price to give us! They are puffed up in their own pride, as were the Corinthians who Paul spoke to concerning one who was called a brother (Christian) but who had been committing fornication in one of the most evil ways -

1 Corinthians 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

Notice the words 'taken away from among you,' - not embraced. “Come out from among them and be ye separate....”
How many so-called Christians today would find this scripture repulsive and would be unable to make it conform and harmonize with the message of love and tolerance they proclaim?
It is time for those who claim to be Christians, to truly follow Christ, His Words and His teachings. If you are to preach another gospel that is not His own, please have the courtesy to call it by another name!
The majority who claim homosexuality as their identity practice sex outside of marriage and this is fornication or what the Bible calls whoring.

Psalms 106:39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

Whoring = (Hebrew) zanahzaw-naw' a primitive root (highly-fed and therefore wanton); to commit adultery ...--(cause to) commit fornication, X continually, X great, (be an, play the) harlot, (cause to be, play the) whore, (commit, fall to) whoredom, (cause to) go a-whoring, whorish.

Their fornication defiles them. It does not get acceptance from God.

1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

Do you hear the Word of the Lord?

If you are living a homosexual lifestyle and say you have a relationship with God – you are lying - whether or not you have realized this fact!

If you say you have fellowship with God but you are walking in darkness, (which you are doing if you are living in fornication, whether heterosexual or homosexual,) then you are lying!
And any true child of God should never give in to your pressure to agree with your lie.
If, dear brother or sister, you do not live this lifestyle, but have been afraid not to accept it and give it your stamp of approval to it, then your eyes are not focused on the truth of the Savior, nor are you agreeing with His already established judgment!

1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat
.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

1 Timothy 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

Satan does not want us to know these scriptures. He does not want us to respect nor honor them. And he definitely does not want us to repeat them or live by them. He wants to silence the Word of God. He knows that a little leaven will leaven the whole lump.

(Speaking of fornication) - 1 Corinthians 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

Leaven is a substance, typically yeast, that when added to dough, will ferment and cause the dough to rise. It only takes a small amount for it to spread throughout the entire dough.
It only takes a small amount of fornication, including homosexuality, left in the body, to affect the entire church. Therefore the enemy of God and of our souls wants to be sure that this leaven is left in the body of Christ, unchecked, until it is able to defile the entire body.
A little leaven has been spreading just as Satan knew it would.
But the church too often prides itself in its tolerance, as if this tolerance will enable them to reach the lost. They are puffed up with pride instead of mourning and having it removed from them.

1 Corinthians 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

You will not reach souls 'for' Christ by using a technique that is in direct opposition to His Word!

Psalms 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Jeremiah 14:12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Micah 3:4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.

John 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

Jeremiah 6:10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
This is true yet today. For many - “ the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

And yet we must love the sinners who Christ died for, who we once were.
Dear reader, you cannot reach the lost on your own, in your own way! It is the Spirit of the living God who reaches, convicts and draws to salvation. And He does not do it outside of the perimeters of God's Word, His holiness and His judgment! The lost will not be reached, even if you say all the right words, if the Holy Spirit is not at work in you, and He will not work in you if you are not surrendered to Christ, His will and His way.
This does not mean we are not to love the sinner, be kind to the sinner, be considerate of the sinner and seek his salvation. But if we love them, we must speak the truth in love.

Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Listen to the instruction of God's Word, even if it is not what men are saying, for God's Word is established and is the only Word that is sure.
We must keep ourselves separate from the things of the world, where the god of this world rules in opposition to the eternal God who created heaven and earth.
No matter how much you may love someone who is involved with the works of darkness, you cannot participate in any ungodly deed and be in right standing with God. You cannot compromise holiness, righteousness or truth. You cannot laugh at those things that are unclean nor pretend that ungodly things are acceptable, in order to have the approval of man.

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Reprove = - Greek – egchoel-eng'-kho - of uncertain affinity; to confute, admonish:--convict, convince, tell a fault, rebuke, reprove.

1.to prove to be false, invalid, or defective; disprove:
2.to prove (a person) to be wrong by argument or proof: .
3.Obsolete. to bring to naught; confound.

Here is another verse that does not come into agreement with the mindset of many today. For many believe that to tell another his fault, even though he is walking in darkness, will only turn him further away from God. This too will be classified as judging. Satan wants us to think that we can never speak the Word of truth. He greatly desires to SILENCE THE WORD OF GOD!
To actually rebuke someone or to 'confute,' would be a repulsive idea considered un-Christ-like. And yet this is the instruction given in the Word of God.
To confute is to prove a thing to be false, invalid or ineffective, even to prove to be wrong by argument or proof. Yet the goal of doing this should be to make the truth known, with the hope of a change of heart and true salvation. We should not argue out of pride, wanting to prove ourselves superior, nor a desire to hurt another person. Nor should we enter into debate with a person whose apparent goal is to stir up confusion and strife, with no real desire to learn what is true.

1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
2 Timothy 2:23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Profane = - Greek [bebhloV] bebelosbeb'-ay-los - from the base of [basiV] - basis 939 and belos (a threshold); accessible (as by crossing the door-way), i.e. (by implication, of Jewish notions) heathenish, wicked:--profane (person).
Vain babblings = Greek [kenofwnia] kenophoniaken-of-o-nee'-ah; from a presumed compound of [kenoV] - kenos and [fwnh] - phone; empty sounding, i.e. fruitless discussion:--vain.
Foolish = Greek [mwroV] morosmo-ros'; probably from the base of [musthrion] - musterion; dull or stupid (as if shut up), i.e. heedless, (morally) blockhead, (apparently) absurd:--fool(-ish, X -ishness).
Avoid fruitless discussions with the wicked, and opposition that is given as science, when in reality it is not. Avoid foolish and unlearned questions. There are those who will attempt to strike up conversations with the intent of making us look foolish or making the truth appear to be unattainable and unknowable. Avoid all of this. When they ask questions, but do not want answers but rather to make themselves appear to be learned teachers of science, while seeking to make you look foolish and to elevate themselves, do not play their game.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

But let us walk in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Titus 2:8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

It appears that there are many who do not see how that love and rebuke can be reconciled one with the other. And Jesus has told us to love. God is love.
Dear Reader if love and rebuke cannot work together then our children must be raised without being corrected and without ever being told their fault. This is a lie. If we love our children we will correct them for their good, so that they might abandon the things that will hurt their lives and hold onto what is right and good.

Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

The truth needs to be spoken, yet spoken in love. It should be love for others that motivates us to reach out and tell them of their need for the Savior and that His salvation is available to them.
Still, no matter how much love we show, we may be rejected because of our telling the truth. No one yet has ever loved like Christ loved and yet He was despised and rejected by those He came to die for. He did not hold back the truth to keep the approval of men. He loved them too much to do that.

John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

In the Bible we see Christ having few actual friends, though He loved all mankind. He spoke words of wisdom for all who would hear, but to those who really wanted to understand, He gave greater explanation. Those whose motives were not to serve Him did not understand.

Matthew 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

He rebuked Pharisees and told them the truth about their condition, even though His words stung and were not complimentary. He stated the truth, but He did not involve Himself in lengthy so-called intellectual debates with those who thought themselves superior or wished to catch Him in a fault.
He even rebuked one of His disciples when it was expedient. (Mat. 16:23)
He took time to make a whip out of reeds and went into the temple, where He overturned tables, used His whipped and drove the money changers out. (John 2:15)
He reproved the world and, at the same time, loved every man enough to give His life for them and take the punishment they deserved.

John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Reprove – Greek [elegcw] elegchoel-eng'-kho; of uncertain affinity; to confute, admonish:--convict, convince, tell a fault, rebuke, reprove.

Sometimes love must be tough, sometimes for the sake of those who need to face the truth, sometimes in defense of the one we love the most.
True love will not coddle a person's addiction. Sometimes it takes tough love with brutal honesty to shake one we love out of the life that is killing him.
Pretending a person who is headed for eternal destruction, is alright and his life is totally acceptable, is not love, but selfishness. It is a means to keep the other person happy with us, to keep them accepting us, but it is not for their good. Those who believe it is, are deceived.
God loved the sinner enough to die for him. This is a good thing to let the sinner know. But He loved them enough to bring the way for them to be free from their sin; to be cleansed from the thing that is killing him and leading him down a path to destruction.
When God's love is demonstrated, so is His rejection of sin.
How bad did God consider the sins of man? Bad enough to suffer torture and death in order to free us from it; not to leave us in it!
An alcoholic must first admit he is addicted before he can be delivered from his addiction. A sick man must admit he is sick in order to get treatment for his illness. A sinner must realize and admit he is a sinner before he will come to the foot of Jesus and receive cleansing and forgiveness.
It is time for those who claim to be Christians to stand up and truly be followers of Christ, speak His words unashamedly, and trust the results to God!
It is time to speak the truth of Jesus Christ in love and to cease from trying to gain the acceptance of those who are in the service of the enemy of God!

DO NOT SILENCE THE WORD OF GOD!

Search it! Study it! Learn it! Surrender to it! And speak it forth loud and clear!

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Isaiah 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

SEEKING PHYSICAL/SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCES THAT GO A STEP BEYOND THE SCRIPTURES

SEEKING PHYSICAL/SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCES THAT GO A STEP BEYOND THE SCRIPTURES

Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

There is a move by the enemy of God to capture the hearts and minds of multitudes today. The method of action is cunning and very effective. This action serves to draw people away from what is true and real to a counterfeit that is destructive and deadly. For many who do not accept the counterfeit as being of God, they will yet be unwilling to receive what is real and true, believing the real and the counterfeit to either be one and the same or both of the same origin and thus neither of God.
The goal? Rejection of the Holy Spirit of God and acceptance of the spirit of Satan, anti-Christ and error.
There is now talk of opening gateways to heaven, seeing spirit orbs, etc. and an obsession for physical and emotional experiences – 'highs' – of all sorts.
People are being encouraged to get 'wacked' or 'messed up,” supposedly by the Holy Spirit, which is basically to be rendered “out of control.”
However the child of God is to purposely bring his thoughts and his body into subjection to Christ. He is not to allow himself to be in any spiritual/emotional state that would render him incapable of distinguishing between imagination and fact, truth and illusion.

2 Corinthians 10: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

1 Corinthians 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

I come from a Pentecostal background myself, my father being a Pentecostal preacher. I have seen exuberant worship, in services where the Spirit of God touched lives. My father, however, warned against what he termed 'wild fire,' which often would show up to disrupt the true move of the Spirit of God.
Child of God, the old expression “on fire for the Lord,' was a reference to a zeal or passion for the Lord and the things of the Lord. There is nothing in scripture about a fire of the Holy Spirit that was passed from one human being to another, by calling out the word 'fire.'
We do not need extra-Biblical teachings to draw us closer to the Father. The way for intimacy with God was made at the cross!
Fire cleanses and purges. It is not an exciting physical/spiritual experience to give people thrills or render them out of control of their faculties!
Let me make a very clear distinction between responding to an event and seeking the response, or that is, in seeking the emotion rather than either the gift or the giver and in seeking signs of the reality of God rather than seeking God Himself.
When an individual receives a thoughtful, precious gift of love, he or she will most likely respond emotionally. When the one who loves him hands him the gift, there are a variety of responses that may be seen, depending on the receivers temperament, personality and what he is actually touched by the most. Whether or not he is more interested in the gift than the thought and purpose behind it or more interested in the love of the giver, may effect his response.
One person may jump for joy, another might put his hand over his mouth as tears roll down their cheek, while yet another person may embrace the giver and express his love as well as appreciation for the gift.
There is nothing wrong with any of these or possibly many other responses. But they are just that – RESPONSES! They are responses to having received something. These responses, of course, are not the gift nor the giver.
When God moves in a person's life, whether to cleanse them from sin, comfort and reassure him of His love or minister to him in some other way, he may well respond emotionally, both to the awareness of God's presence and love and to what He is doing in his life. There is nothing wrong in this, that I am aware of, if the response is within decency and order.
However a problem arises when people begin to seek emotional highs, rather than seeking God himself. When this occurs Satan is glad to supply any number of sensual thrills and amazing phenomenon, in order to fill this lust and capture minds and hearts.
This brings to mind the people who took a ship and went looking for Jesus, found Him on the other side of the sea and asked -

John 6:25 A... Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

But Jesus knew the thoughts and intentions of their hearts and had this to say to them -

John 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

Jesus knew that these people had not even come looking for him because they were so amazed and moved by the fact that He could perform such a wondrous miracle as feeding five thousand with a few loaves of bread and a few fishes! They had not sought Him out because the miracles He performed moved them to believe He was the Savior. No! They had only went looking for Him, because of how He had filled their bellies! Can you believe it?
And so it is today. People flock to churches, auditoriums and various gatherings, not because they have such a great desire to die to self and to sin, ashamed of the sinful lives they have lived and are aware of how they have hurt the heart of God. They do not come because they are deeply moved by the miracles He performs. They come because they want to experience some supernatural phenomenon that will give them thrills and fill their sensual bellies!
Consider Christs' response to those who sought Him out for the food that had filled their bellies.

John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Here Christ specified that the food these people sought was NOT the food that would endure to everlasting life. IT WOULD NOT! It only gave temporary satisfaction.

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

The work of God, says God Himself, is to believe on Him (Jesus Christ) whom God has sent – not to believe in the fleshly satisfaction you can get for yourself to satisfy your own lust, your desire for sensual highs!
As a matter of fact, lust for things other than the Word of God will choke out the Word of God and my friend, Jesus IS the Word of God! The very lust for emotional highs can be choking out Jesus the living Word, from your life so that it has become unfruitful!

Mark 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

Yes it is important to be filled with the Spirit of God. But what is it the Spirit of God does in the life of a truly born again child of God? Have you read in any place in scripture where it says that the Holy Ghost was sent to bless you emotionally and and give you a spiritual high, or to take you on exciting journeys through the spirit world, through supernatural gateways or to give you the power to tap into or control or command spirit beings?
You have not! There are no such scriptures!
What does the Word of God say?

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth!
Notice – HE SHALL NOT SPEAK of HIMSELF! He speaks what He hears from the Father!
He comes to guide the children of God into all truth.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you

He is the Comforter! It is He who comforts the child of God.
He brings to the remembrance of the child of God, the things that Jesus Himself has said. This is the Word of God, which is Jesus Christ!

Revelation 19:13 And he (Jesus) was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The Holy Spirit did not come to magnify Himself, but to guide people into the truth that is Jesus Christ the living Word. He reminds them of the words of Jesus. He glorifies the Son of God!
Surely, for a mortal man to be filled with the Spirit of the living God and to feel His presence, it may be more than most can bear without an emotional response. Yet do we seek God for who He is or for a feeling?
Do we honor God in acknowledging who He is and allowing Him to do what He desires to do in our life? Or do we only seek fleshly thrills?
Will we allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in our lives and give thanks and praise to God for this and for His tender love that motivates Him to work on out behalf? Or will we seek to be, 'wacked' or 'messed up” as is the modern terms for being emotionally and physically out of control?
Anyone who will encourage people to pay more attention to the Holy Spirit and emotional feelings, that they identify with Him, than to the written Word of God, is a person to avoid and close your ears to! Why? Because the Holy Spirit works in unison with the Word of God, not separately from it! It is the work of the Holy Spirit to guide you into the truth that is contained in the scriptures and to remind you of what Jesus has said, as is written in scripture. This is what the Bible tells us the Holy Spirit will do!

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

We are to be ministers of the New Testament, that has been made alive by the Holy Spirit. We are never to have one without the other. The letter alone, without the Spirit of God to reveal to us God's true meaning and heart, can be distorted and kill. But the Spirit gives it life.
There is no power in euphoria. It is like a drug that temporarily puts you in a state of forgetfulness, or at least distracts you from troubles and wounds that have not been healed. It gives excitement. It gives a temporary sense of elation, exhilaration, jubilation, or bliss, without this being a response to anything other than fleshly sensation. These pass easily, requiring another fix. They draw the individual to seek after greater highs and more supernatural phenomenon from which to gain excitement. But they do nothing to heal wounded souls. They do nothing to establish a man in the most holy faith of Jesus Christ. They do nothing to bring one into a greater knowledge of and relationship with God. They only deceive people into thinking that their sensual experience is their connection to God, while actually opening them to the Prince of the Power of the Air and his many illusions, even his demonic activity.
It is the Word of God, anointed by the Holy Spirit, that has the power to discern the thoughts and intents of a man's heart.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

One thing that Satan does not want to happen to any man, is for him to face the reality of his condition and his need before God. He does not want a man to see where he is falling short of the glory of God. For if he sees this, then he may turn and humble himself before God in repentance and find true healing and true peace that lasts even without all the hype and sensationalism!
Satan does not want the true Spirit of God to work in the lives of men, revealing to them the true Word of God, His heart and His will for their lives!

But notice that it is the Word of God that is -

Quick
Powerful
Sharper than any two edged sword
Piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
A discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart

Notice it does not say that the Holy Spirit apart from the Word of God has this power! If you seek power of the Holy Spirit apart from the Word of God, it may not be the Spirit of God who comes along to satisfy your desire but the Spirit of the enemy of God, deceiving you with false senses of euphoria!
Satan will gladly give you a false sense of power and elation if that is what you desire. He has many spirits at his disposal with which to deceive the ignorant.
But the true power that comes from God Almighty is found in the person of Jesus Christ the Word, in unison with the Holy Spirit.
God is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are one and function in relationship, in unison, as a part of each other.
To search the Word without the Holy Spirit is to receive only a written word that can be distorted and kill. To seek the Holy Spirit without the Word of God is to open yourself to possible counterfeits and unholy, deceiving spirits.
The work of both Jesus and the holy Spirit is to restore us and keep us in fellowship with the Father.

What of Angels, Gateways into the heavenlies, Orbs, Drawing out anointings, Claiming ground, etc?

It is clear in scripture that the authority over angels belongs to God and not man!
Jesus made it known that -if- He chose to – pray to - His Father, God would have given Him more than twelve legions of angels.

Matthew 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

If Jesus, who was one with the Father, would have asked of the Father, why would any human being think he could take it on himself to 'command' angels?

The Word of God says that God shall give His angels charge over thee.

Psalms 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways
.
Luke 4:10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

WHO HAS CHARGE OVER WHO?

It does not say He will give man charge over the angels of God, but the exact opposite!

It is God who disperses angels according to His authority and His will!

Matthew 13:4 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

They are HIS angels and He will give them their assignments – not man!

Beware of those who through words that sound intelligent and are alluring, atempt to entice you toward things that are not in agreement with the Word or heart of God. Things that distract from the still small voice of the Lord, who is come to influence your heart in the truth that is Jesus Christ, the living Word!

2 Peter 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

Gateways or Openings into Heaven

People teaching the so-called blessings of such phenomenon as opening gateways into heaven may go back to Old Testament scriptures that refer to the heavens opening in Ezekial 1:1-

Ezekiel 1:1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.

Or when God spoke to Malachi, concerning the children of Israel saying that if they obeyed Him, He would open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing -

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

However it is important to establish the difference in the way God worked in the Old Testament and the way He works in the lives of born again believers in the New Testament era, which is today.
First and foremost it needs to be understood that the Holy Spirit had not been poured out before Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses and defeated sin, so that we could be cleansed from sin and purified, so that the Holy Spirit could dwell in us.
There were men in the Old Testament who were anointed by the Spirit, and moved on by the Holy Spirit at times. But as a whole, the people of that day did not have the opportunity to be filled with and indwelled by the Holy Spirit on a continuous basis.
This could only happen after Jesus died and rose again.

John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Before Jesus took our sin on Himself, died, defeated that sin and rose again, mens' sins separated them from God. Because of this, His Spirit could not live in them.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Jesus gave us a new and better way with His defeat of sin. Therefore it is a mistake to think that we can find greater spiritual experiences by going back to the things that took place before the fullness of the Holy Spirit was given to us.
Concerning the Law of Moses it is said -

Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

God Himself found a fault Laws of the old covenant. That law could not remove our sin, purify our hearts and bring us into the fellowship with God that God wanted us to have.
But consider what Jesus had to say -

John 7:37-39 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Hallelujah! Jesus gave the glorious good news, that He was going send the Holy Spirit who would fill us until out of our bellies would flow rivers of living water!
There is no need for us to open gateways into heaven, for God has sent us His own Spirit to live in us, here and now.
God has reached through the heavens and done a perfect work, so that now we can have Him living, communicating, influencing, comforting, empowering and guiding us at all times!
We have no need to seek beyond the cross for something else to make us more empowered, more spiritual, more anointed, than what Jesus has already provided!

John 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Ephesians 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

What greater thing could we receive than the fulness of Christ and grace for grace?
All we could ever need is already found in Christ!
Grace is much more than the free gift of salvation, even though that in itself is of far more value than can fully be comprehended. Still it is this and even more.

Grace (Strong's Exhaustive Concordance) – charis; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstr. Or concr.; literal or figurative or spiritual: especially the divine influence upon the heart. And its reflection in the life....

Brother and sister, we should be more concerned with growing in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior – Jesus Christ - than in finding spiritual thrills!

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Grow in grace by learning to listen to and respond to the voice of the Lord, as He speaks to you through His Word and the influence of the Holy Spirit.
Seek to grow in submission to the King of Kings. Seek to live in that place where He is Lord and rules your life. A kingdom is a place where a king rules. If you seek to live in that place where Christ rules your life at all times, and to have His righteousness in you, then all that you need will be added to you!

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

To seek the power to open gateways into heaven is a selfish thing. Even when the heavens were opened in the Old Testament, it was not the result of any man asking this to be done or doing it himself. These were acts of God, according to His sovereign will.
Be very careful when anyone tempts you to take an authoritative position that belongs only to God!
Even in the New Testament when Jesus was baptized it was God who chose to open the heavens and show Jesus the the Spirit of God descending “like a dove.”

Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Jesus told Nathaneal that he was going to see the heavens open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man. What an honor this must have been! But this was God's doing. It was His choice and for His own reason. Nathaneal did not ask for this. Nathaneal did not make this happen in any way!

John 1:51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

John the beloved, when exiled on the isle of Patmos, saw a door opened in heaven and heard a voice as it were a trumpet speaking. Brother and Sister, if God should choose to give you a dream or vision, and cause you to see a door opened in heaven, it would be for a specific purpose of God, because He wanted to reveal something to you and it would be something that could be authenticated in scripture. It would not be something of your own doing, for it is not up to you or I to dictate to God what He should do, nor do we know His plans.

Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

ORBS

When God sent His angels to anyone in scripture, they appeared as men, never some unknown entity. They did not appear in some form that left the spectator wondering whether or not they were an illusion, whether or not they had actual substance, whether they were spirits or something else. They did not distract from the worship of God. They were not sent to be worshiped, sought after or glorified
Angels of God came on assignment from God and were seen as men or angels, nothing else.
Be careful not to mess with things the scriptures tell us nothing about.

Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men

When the children of Israel chose to worship a calf, in the wilderness, God turned and gave them up to what?

Acts 7:42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven;....

Yes He gave them up to worship the host of heaven rather than Himself and it was displeasing in His sight!
Let us not be caught up into spiritual activities that are abominations to God. Worship belongs only to God and not to anything He has created, whether it be the things of heaven or earth, spiritual or material! Only God is to be worshiped and praised!
If you seek for angels, orbs or any other supernatural phenomenon, you may well be deceived and find yourself falling far short of the glory of God! Not only this, but involved in things that are blinding your eyes and closing your ears to the true things of God. You may end up serving God's enemy and living in total bondage!

2 Corinthians 11:1 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Taking Ground

Psalms 24:1 The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Leave it alone! It is the Lords'!

1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Jesus came to save sinners. Follow His footsteps and it will be enough!

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

But, some will say, God gave man dominion of the earth! Such dominion was 'under' God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth!. Man was to till the earth and protect it. But the earth was and will always be the Lord's!

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

For who? Him! God!

1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 5:11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Time is short. Let the children of God have ears to hear what the Spirit of God says through His Word and eyes to see what He reveals through His Spirit as it gives life to the Word!
Avoid all sensationalism that magnifies spiritual encounters that have not been directed by God or authenticated in His Word.
Encounter Jesus through repentance and full surrender to the will and heart of God. The reading of His Word and the revelation of the Holy Spirit! And know joy unspeakable that is not dependent on repeated thrills and out of control physical/spiritual experiences that are not of God.
Do not allow lying spirits to lead you into things God has not ordained.
Seek Jesus and let the Holy Spirit reveal Him to you. Let the Holy Spirit fill you and you will be able to do the things God has called you to, by Jesus the living Word.

Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

In ALL your ways acknowledge God – NOT seek to encounter angles - Not make connection to orbs – Not seek other men's anointings - Not seek emotional/spiritual highs – Not get 'wacked' so that you cannot control your bodily function!
ACKNOWLEDGE God and He will direct your paths!

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus
